News…Next Sunday’s
special collection will be for the Flood Relief of our Ukrainian
Brethren. On June 29 there was an
unexpectedly huge rainfall. The smaller rivers, creeks all overflowed, making
immeasurable damage, killing much livestock. Many of our Ukrainian
brethren were impacted and devastated by the floods. A special
plea for emergency relief funds came in July from the Eastern European Relief
Committee. All monies collected on Sept. 5th, unless otherwise
earmarked, will be forwarded for this flood relief.
Today’s Missionary Prayer Focus will be for Bro. Tim and
Sis. Christine Huber of PAZ Japan. PAZ Japan is an evangelical,
church-planting missions
organization. Tim & Christine Huber, themselves missionaries
in Japan,
are the acting Directors. PAZ Japan is an outreach mission from the
headquarters in the Amazon region of Brazil where PAZ, or “Project
AmaZon”, has so far planted over 500 churches in the cities and river villages
along the Amazon River
over the past 30 years. Tim came to Japan as a single missionary in 1985.
In 1987 he started the church as a Bible study in his one room apartment
with 6 people sitting on the floor around his table. Christine joined him in
1997 when they were married.
An Invitation to All Women: This is a great time to join a Women's Bible Study. We will be meeting sometime next month to choose a new study. Anyone interested please contact Sis. Carol Kapusinski.
